Friends of the Library are people who value the service of
public libraries and volunteer to help.
We are dedicated to the support and promotion of the
Kimberley Public Library. We also partner with Columbia Basin Alliance for Literacy and support literacy initiatives in the community.
Although the Friends do not buy books for the Library, we supplement what cannot be provided by the library
budget with funds, materials, equipment and services. Friends decide how to spend their money in
conjunction with the Library Director and the Library Board of Trustees.
Our goal:
To bring together a group of community members who value
libraries and who are willing to share their energy, expertise and resources in
support of their library.
Our Objectives:
To promote the programs and service of our library within
the community.
To encourage bequests, memorial gifts and other donations to
our library.
To coordinate and participate in promotional and
fundraising events.
Friends are a “connecting link” between the Library and the
Community.
